The Altra Torin 7 combines zero-drop platform with maximum cushioning and FootShape toe box. After 300 miles and full adaptation, here's my review.
Zero Drop Daily Training
The Torin 7 makes zero-drop accessible for daily training. The 28mm stack provides enough cushioning for comfortable long runs while maintaining natural 0mm drop.
Ego Max Cushioning
Ego Max foam is Altra's softest option. The cushioning is plush and comfortable, ideal for easy runs and long miles. Energy return is moderate but adequate.
FootShape Benefits
The wide toe box remains incredibly comfortable for extended runs. No hotspots or blisters even on 20+ mile runs. Once you experience FootShape, narrow toe boxes feel confining.
Transition Reminder
If new to zero-drop, transition gradually. The Torin's cushioning makes it more forgiving than minimalist shoes, but you still need time to adapt.
